Listen, there are some traditions in place for a reason, and I understand that. However, there's no rule book that says you can't throw yourself a baby shower. Gianni had two showers! One of which was a surprise shower my Boss's wife and coworkers threw for me. My ultimate determining factor was thinking about telling my children they were each loved and showered in the same manner, no matter the circumstances of being in a new area, or not having family around. Realistically, it's pretty common in the life of an active duty military family. The upside to it all is that you gain strong relationships with other service members and spouses who become your family away from family; that's who'll be present at this shower.
I talked it over with my Husband first, and with his support, I started early with the planning phase. I have been knocking tasks out here and there to mitigate the workload on the weekend of the shower... hence me gifting you with the Baby Shower DIY Series. It's the perfect opportunity to seize the moment and capture the process of planning and executing this beautiful event. The theme is gender neutral, bohemian chic, and it's an outdoor brunch at my home.
